Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson presented Isabel Anzani of Croton on Hudson with the Gold Award, the highest recognition of achievement, at a ceremony at the West Point Club, United States Military Academy, on Sunday March 13th.  Isabel was one of 101 girls honored by the Girl Scout Council on Sunday.  The keynote address was given by Anna Maria Chavez, CEO of Girl Scouts USA.

Her Gold Award project — A Website to Help the Hungry — began in 2013 and was completed last year.  She developed a low cost website for the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry, to help them increase their local presence and attract both volunteers and donations (foodpantryincroton.org).  She also worked with the Food Bank for Westchester to share her website model with all of their member pantries, and addressed all of the county’s food pantries at the Food Bank for Westchester’s annual conference in September 2015.

Isabel is a senior at Croton Harmon High School and will be attending Skidmore College in the fall.  As a member of Girl Scout Troop 1243 for 13 years, Isabel has now completed all three awards for leadership:  Bronze, Silver and now the Gold Award.
