CROTON UNITED IN THE NEWS: THE DAILY VOICE, JAMES O'ROURKE 11/17/15 - FAIR CAMPAIGN PRACTICES COMMITTEE RULES FOR CROTON UNITED

CROTON-On-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee has found that a mailer and Facebook statement issued by Croton-On-Hudson Democrats in the week before this month's elections were "unfair."  The ruling, made public in a press release issued by the committee on Friday, came as a result of a complaint filed by Gregory Schmidt, Croton's village mayor.

According to the release , Schmidt alleged the village's Democrats were incorrect in stating that "Croton United’s Schmidt raised taxes by an average of more than 8 percent a year – a cumulative total of more than $6 million in additional taxes.”  READ MORE OF THE ARTICLE HERE http://cortlandt.dailyvoice.com/politics/fair-campaign-practices-committee-rules-for-croton-united/604528/

  1. Two years in a row and after last night's performance, what more is there you can say except thank you to Committee and C.U. John

  2. Have gotten many comments and questions about the status of the vote on the Solar resolution/Wiegman's Sust. Westchester at the board meeting the other night; Mayor Wiegman "left the room"; the rest of the board, not unexpectedly, voted in favor 4-0. However, as the village manager indicated, the new board will have to vote on anything going forward that was in so many words, binding.
