An email message from Guy Pardee: I would like to say thank you to the 80 or so individuals and organizations both locally and in the surrounding communities who helped us suppress some of the invasive growth at Croton Point Park for the second Vine Swarm event. Of the many numerous organizations that participated, locally were our Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct, Croton Vine Cutters and our newest budding organization the Croton Point Vine Cutters. Thank you to Westchester County Parks Dept and Friends of Westchester County Parks and their many staff provided who provided the amenities to make a warm sunny day, perfect. The Care of Trees arborists, who provided four crews to to remove the draperies of vines in the mature trees opening up view sheds to the river. With my deepest honors thank you to all participants for their hard work, dedication and education regarding the importance of invasive species management.
