FOND MEMORIES OF CROTON'S DR. FRANCIS "FRANCIE" ELWYN

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

There were so many comments about a photo in the last Camp Rainbow series that featured Dr. Francis "Francie" Elwyn, Everything Croton had a special request for more on this beloved Croton icon.

Click on the photos below, courtesy once again of the outstanding archives at The Croton Historical Society. SEE PART 2 HERE http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2013/12/more-fond-memories-of-crotons-dr.html

  1. That woman inspired a life long interest in geology for me. She was the kindest and best teacher.

  2. In the 1957 photo, the guy in the right foreground (with the ears) is my Dad, Arthur Berger. My family moved to Croton in 1957. Mom (Miriam Berger, a teacher at CET) passed away at Phelps Memorial in 2009, age 87. Dad died in our house in Croton in 2011, age 93.
