BY SPECIAL REQUEST: CROTON'S LEE HAYS, THE WEAVERS

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

For those who don't know, Lee Hayes of "The Weavers" fame, moved to Croton in 1967 where he spent his remaining years. He died in 1981. The documentary film The Weavers: Wasn't That a Time!, for which Hays had written the script, was released in 1982.

And so by special request, courtesy of the outstanding archives at The Croton Historical Society, a few select items from the file. Click on the photos below.  For those who have asked, Hayes lived on Memory Lane here in Croton. You can read more about Hays at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Hays

Please note that this is not a forum for political commentary, left or right, and those comments will be deleted immediately; rather this posting serves as a tribute to the music and a record of his time in our village.

  2. Thank you so very much for this post. Are there more photos of Lee Hays from his Croton days? He is the topic of my graduate research in history. With thanks--Beth Withey
