WESTCHESTER LAWSUIT AGAINST HUD OKAYED BY BOARD OF LEGISLATORS

JOURNAL NEWS: WESTCHESTER LAWSUIT AGAINST HUD OKAYED BY BOARD OF LEGISLATORS 4/22/13 - WHITE PLAINS — The Westchester County Board of Legislators voted 12-4 Monday to authorize a legal challenge to the decision by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to send $7.4 million in grants to other communities. HUD warned the county in March that its 2011 Community Development Block Grants and other funds would be reallocated if the county didn’t take several steps to comply with a 2009 fair-housing settlement by April 25.   1. Do the legislators complaining here have no grasp that NYS is a home rule state? We should give in to HUD's demands and lose that forever? Honestly, I am so sick of legislators who can't see past the consequences of their personal political ideologies. Go get 'em Astorino!
