PART ONE: YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND AT THE CROTON ON HUDSON HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

You never know what you’ll find at The Croton-on-Hudson Historical Society.

Thanks to the generosity of residents, the archives are not only filled with the history of our village, but with postcards, magazines, books and more on everyday life—the stuff of future Society exhibits.

One such recent and generous donation is the 1904 Cosmopolitan Magazine, dedicated to “The World’s Fair”, St. Louis (ALSO KNOWN AS THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE EXPOSITION). We’ll be including scans from this magazine in the months ahead, with particular attention to the ads of the day. (And Jello fans will find something here too! Click on the photo) You can see what’s been scanned so far at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157629277626766/ Enjoy!

  1. Great town, great history, great present, and people fighting to keep it that way. That's what this site always reminds us.
