MORE CROTON MEMORIES 2012: GIRL SCOUTS THEN AND NOW

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

MORE CROTON MEMORIES 2012: GIRL SCOUTS THEN AND NOW

The latest edition of The Gazette (March 8 – 14, 2012) features a page 4 article entitled “Girl Scouts to mark centennial” on March 15th at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown. Famous former girl scouts will make an appearance, including Vanessa Williams among others. It goes without saying that we think a lot of the Girl Scouts. The organization maintains great core values that are as important and relevant today as they were yesterday.

All this reminded us of a newspaper clipping we spotted in the archives of The Croton-on-Hudson Historical Society; it’s dated February 20, 1958 and comes from the Croton Cortlandt News. Click on the photo.
