AND NOW FOR THE HISTORY OF CANDY CORN...

Love it....hate it....Just as Peeps are most traditionally associated with Easter, Candy Corn is most traditionally associated with Halloween.

It has had, however, a fascinating history; read all about it here.

On another note, residents recall their parents buying everything from Trick or Treat bags to Collegeville Costumes at Pop Berger's, the Grand Union, Woolworth's in the Beach Shopping Center, or Elliott's......

A time when Halloween wasn't so "complicated".....for some folks at least.....

As one reader put it, "my daughter wants to be a Geisha ever since she came across a clip from Madame Butterfly.  The in-laws said, do you think that's a good idea? Won't other people frown on your *cultural appropriation*?  I haven't stopped laughing since.  The wig came from Oriental Trading and what will pass for kimono fabric was found at Walmart".
