Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton-on-Hudson: our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Schenectady man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of illegal gun possession. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Steven Dunn will serve a year and three months as a previously convicted felon.

Prosecutors said on January 21, 2025, Schenectady Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint and when it was searched, police recovered both methamphetamine and a Mossberg 535 shotgun. While continuing their investigation, about six months later, detectives obtained a search warrant for Dunn’s home and reportedly recovered another shotgun.

“Mixing lethal narcotics and illegal firearms creates a volatile and unpredictable combination, and I thankful this investigation stopped Mr. Dunn before that volatility could harm the community,” First Assistant United States Attorney John Sarcone said.
