The same thing happened with those NY State "Inflation Reduction" checks mailed in 2025 to 8 million New Yorkers based 2023 tax filings. Checks were mailed to deceased persons since no audit was done against death records prior mailing the checks. I know because we got one for a deceased family member. Called various offices in Albany-was told to "Cash it or throw it away" Bob A
