MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

As always, some wonderful new finds, oldies but goodies, special requests and more. Click on the photos and links.

A reader inherited some Black Transferware that has been in her family for many generations.  Of all the colors available, it seems rare to find it in BLACK---here's a piece we found at the Asbury 2024 Spring Sale---made by Royal Stafford too.

FOR COLLECTORS OF THIS COLOR TRANSFERWARE--or if you are missing pieces--there's quite a bit of it at REPLACEMENTS LTD HERE.

FOR THE READER LOOKING FOR A SUITABLE "VENETIAN DEW" substitute--in clear---for their putz houses creations and Christmas ornament restorations, these GERMAN GLASS DECO BEADS from 32 DEGREES NORTH/VINTAGE ORNAMENTS will surely fit the bill. Also available in other colors; more info here

That's followed by a great 1954 ad featuring Debra Paget from Demetrius and the Gladiators. For those who don't know: the biblical drama is the sequel to The Robe. The picture was made by 20th Century Fox, directed by Delmer Daves and produced by Frank Ross. Paget enjoyed the nickname: the BRUNETTE BEAUTY.

The movie presents Victor Mature as Demetrius, a Christian slave made to fight in the Roman arena as a gladiator, and Susan Hayward as Messalina. The film was a massive commercial success. YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE. Our friends at EFSP have a fabulous post on Paget here

AND FINALLY, FOR FANS OF HORNBY TRAINS, a fabulous Flickr album of Hornby pieces, ephemera, etc. from David Busfield HERE.

AND BUSFIELD HAS OTHER FAB FLICKR ALBUMS TOO:
