APARTMENT RESIDENTS CAN'T GET COVID TESTS

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

As reported in numerous media sources (here's just one and here's another from UPS)---this is apparently an issue for quite a few people---in a nutshell:

Apartment Residents Can't Get Covid Tests

People ordering free government covid tests online are being rejected. The problem is due to the USPS database.

Each residential address can place 2 orders, with each order consisting of 4 tests. But the order must be sent to an address which is listed in the USPS database as "residential."

Croton residents living above storefronts are being rejected because the postal service regards their address as "commercial" even when an apartment number is entered.

The 2 order limit is per address, which might also result in orders being rejected from persons living in homes with accessory apartments.
