GOV LIFTS BUSINESS MASK MANDATE STARTING THURSDAY, REMAINS OPTIONAL FOR COUNTIES, CITIES AND BUSINESSES, REQUIRING THEM IN SCHOOLS FOR NOW, THE SCIENCE NOW SAYS THEY NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS (WSJ)

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

NY POST--Gov. Kathy Hochul is lifting the state’s business mask mandate on Thursday as New York emerges from a deadly wave of Omicron cases — but will still require them in schools for now.

The mandate is being dropped statewide but it will remain optional for counties, cities and businesses, Gov. Hochul said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

“At this time, we say that it’s the right decision to lift this mandate for indoor businesses and let counties, cities and businesses to make their own decisions on what they want to do with respect to mask or vaccination requirement,” she said.

“That is why we feel comfortable to lift this in effect tomorrow,” Hochul said. MORE AT https://nypost.com/2022/02/09/ny-gov-kathy-hochul-will-drop-business-mask-mandate/

WSJ: NY State dropping indoor mask mandate effective tomorrow.

Here's an apropos quote from a Republican congressional candidate in NJ. "The science now says they need to prepare for the midterm elections." I'm sure this has lots to do with it.  https://tomfaranda.typepad.com/folly/2022/02/wsj-ny-state-dropping-indoor-mask-mandate-effective-tomorrow-.html
