ASPHALT PILES/DUMPING @ BLACK ROCK PARK

Everything Croton has received numerous comments and emails about significant asphalt dumping at Black Rock Park on the Croton River. One resident indicated that there were at least ten truckloads there, and this is presumably the result of road work currently going on in the village. Temporary or not, in the vicinity of a pristine waterway, at a public park, well, what more needs to be said. Your editor has written--as have others--to the village for an explanation. Will keep you posted. Another resident has promised to send photos. If received, they will be posted.

    1. NO. You are thinking of the village allowing concrete dumping at the wellfields in either 2004 or 2005. The Journal News and Gazette covered that.

  2. Any response from the village?

  4. Thank you to the public for getting involved and putting an end to the village dumping. Some new landscaping has been made at the park and I truly believe that had it not been for the public and the fact that this is an election year, things would not have gotten a little better there.
