A CROTON EASTER SEASON 1973

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

With Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter right around the corner, we thought you'd enjoy this blast from the past: A CROTON EASTER SEASON 1973. Click on the photos, courtesy once again of THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY newspaper archives.  You may also enjoy A CROTON EASTER SEASON 1950's http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-croton-easter-season-1950s.html

  1. From the days when the Easter Bunny was the Easter Bunny and not the spring bunny, when it was ok to have an easter egg roll on the lawn of the high school, and Christmas trees weren't "peace trees". Those times weren't perfect and there were things that needed reformation, but screwing around with the holidays, ANYONE's holiday, to satisfy the p.c. gang, wasn't one of them. I miss those days. 2. Wrong Mayor Loconto. That's John, not Jim. Shows how careful the caption checkers were then.
