One reader remembered fondly her late sister prepping for the Carvel Litte Miss Half Pint Beauty Contest here in Croton, a brilliant company marketing ploy if ever there was one---and sent along some interesting links to go along with this 1977 village ad (click on the image ABOVE.)

The Little Miss Half Pint contest was the successor to the Carvel Strawberry Festivals of the 1960's (Click on the old Harmon ad TO THE RIGHT.)
