Upcoming Fishing Regulation Reminders

March 16 – Season Closure Reminder for Coolwater Species

To protect spawning populations of walleye, northern pike, tiger muskellunge, and chain pickerel, the statewide fishing season will close on March 16 and reopen on May 1. For the Great Lakes and tributaries, the muskie and tiger muskie season remains closed through June 14. The statewide muskie season remains closed through June 1.

March 15 – Removal of Ice Shanties--Ice shanties must be removed by March 15 to prevent them from falling through the ice and becoming hazards to navigation.
