The Regeneron WESEF Science Research Student Awards were announced today. A huge thank you goes out to teachers Mr. Daniel Burgo and Ms. Laura Lynch, the Science Department, and everyone who supported the Science Research Program at CHHS. Croton-Harmon High School had 4 students participating.
Congratulations to:
Jeremy Pollak was given the 'Innovations in Biological Sciences Research Award' for his project on Protein Folding.
Callum Franco was given the 'NY Invents Award' for his Project on Digital Biomarker Collection for Neurodegenerative Diseases.
AND to …
Maya Sebestyen, who was awarded '4th place in the Engineering category' for research on the feasibility of 3D printing prosthetic legs.
Congratulations to CHHS qualifier Jane Siegel for her research titled, "Using ADAPT to Predict CRISPR’s Ability to Detect IncRNAs for the Diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus."
Over three years of the program, the students have put in countless hours to develop and execute their projects, analyze their data, develop conclusions, and present their work.
Don't forget that in 2024, Caroline Casieri earned an Honorable Mention award in Biology for her research, titled "Evaluation of DMSO Dosage on Oxidative Stress: Implications for Therapeutics."
