New York hospitals received widely varying federal quality ratings in 2025 as the state's health system braced for financial challenges stemming from federal Medicaid funding cuts.
A total of 132 hospitals across New York received the latest federal quality ratings released on Aug. 6. Of that, 12 got the top five-stars overall rating, or about 9% of hospitals, which is just below the national average of 10%.
