UPDATE TARRYTOWN LIGHTHOUSE VANDALISM

Four suspects were arrested, including two adults: Richard Barrero (19) of Harrison and Elvin Ayavaca (18) of White Plains. They face felony charges of arson, burglary, and criminal mischief for the May 31, 2025 incident that caused over $100,000 in damage. Two additional suspects, both 17, are being charged as juveniles. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are still gathering evidence. there is a court date set for Monday, August 25th, 2025 for the two adult defendants in the Tarrytown Lighthouse vandalism case. Richard Barrero (19) and Elvin Ayavaca (18) are scheduled to appear in Sleepy Hollow Village Court on that day. Unless a settlement is reached beforehand, the case could continue into September. The two minors involved are being handled separately in the Youth Part of Westchester County Court
