  1. I grew up DROOLING over the American Flyer catalogs. Dad had a rule when we were little that I would get one car a year. By the time I started earning my own money, AF was just about out of business, making only cheap "Pikemaster" sets. But there was plenty of second-hand stuff available, and I was able to get some great stuff second- or third-hand. Eventually, though, it was requiring far more time to keep running than I had, and we had no room to set it up in our first two houses, so I sold most of it to a collector friend for a fair price. Still, I may have room in the new place to set it up, and I may repurchase some of my favorite pieces. We'll see. Thanks for posting, Maria!
