EVERYTHING CROTON PRESENTS: PHOTOS FROM THE 2014 HARRY CHAPIN RUN AGAINST HUNGER & RESULTS, CONGRATS ORLANDO CHUQUIMARCA

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Another banner day in Croton: Just enough clouds and just enough sun helped make this year's HARRY CHAPIN RUN AGAINST HUNGER a winner for just about everyone with lots of pre-and-post activity in the Upper Village too.

Assorted Croton volunteer organizations were out in force--with special thanks to Croton's EMS who handled an earlier accident when a racer either "ran into" or tripped over a small child; we're happy to report that according to EMS personnel, the child is otherwise fine although he did suffer cuts and bruises.  As always, our EMS volunteers are the best! We'll have more details soon.

Meanwhile back at "Race Headquarters": Handling the barbecue pit with the skill of a master chef times ten (!) were multiple Croton Lions Club members at the Shoprite Tent--among them business owner Stephen DeName, Steve Chester and former trustee Don Daubney--and of course, Pete Tsagarakis of Croton Colonial Diner was on hand as well.  Thanks Shoprite for your usual donations and the Lions for your service! In addition, Croton Auto Park had a "stuff the truck" food collection drive. Thanks Lou Giordano!

AND TO ALL THE BUSINESSES, VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS of this year's event a BIG EVERYTHING CROTON SHOUT-OUT! We'll have a complete list soon--and here are the 10K race results http://www.runagainsthunger.com/2014-10k-results/

CONGRATULATIONS TO FIRST PLACE WINNER, BIB 192 ORLANDO CHUQUIMARCA of Peekskill--and Adrian Stiefelmann of Croton in 2nd place.

  1. Thanks for the great photos. We live in a great town on days like this one especially.

  2. I don't think I remember this event being as well attended as it was today. Any more word on the kid that got hurt?
