THE REIBEL'S 6/19 GAZETTE LETTER ON CROTON MAYOR WIEGMAN'S TAXPAYER FUNDED MEDICAL BENEFITS

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

THE FOLLOWING LETTER APPEARED IN THE 6/19 EDITION OF THE GAZETTE AND IS ALSO RE-PRINTED HERE BY REQUEST:

To the editor:

In thinking over the part-time mayor's action in giving himself and his family a $22,000-plus health insurance policy paid for by the village which is only available to village employees for full-time employment, it seems to us, that even if it's legal, it's not ethical.

In the one hundred and sixteen-year history of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, this is the first time a part-time employee has taken advantage of the taxpayers in such an arrogant and high-handed manner.

We feel terribly disappointed and betrayed by Mayor Leo Wiegman, whom we had respected.

Bob and Ann Reibel
