Welcome
to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our
homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING
CROTON.
As many of you know, the 4/27/14 edition of the Gazette reported on our new "full-time" mayor's taxpayer funded medical and dental benefits under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). The article was on
page 11; the "full-time" mayor was
also not present at the meeting in which this was discussed, numerous taxpayers complained, and the budget was voted on. The premium is $22,100 a year and Mayor Wiegman has reportedly been paying 4.5%
of it; Croton's taxpayers are on the hook for the rest. You can see highlights from that article here: http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-gazette-42414-croton-budget-flak.html
Today's Gazette has a letter in it from Croton resident Brian Powers. He also asked for it to be printed here. Click on the images. The mayor's "accounting" of his hours/"time records" are also included below for your convenience. Additional letters on this issue did not make it into the paper this week. There are also many letters on the upcoming school elections on page 9.
