A CROTON CHRISTMAS: WW II

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

At the recent Pearl Harbor ceremony here in Croton (click on the link to see some photos: http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2012/12/photos-2012-pearl-harbor-remembrance.html) we got to chatting with a veteran about what "wartime Christmases" were like in Croton. That inspired us to pay a visit to The Croton Historical Society. Here's only some of what we found in their amazing newspaper archives. Click on the scans below.

  1. The 'shop local' guy, Sol Gerstein, must have had a really cool store. Can you find more info on it?
    Thanks.
