SOMETIMES IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNT: CROTON JEWELERS

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Sometimes it’s just the little things that remind you of how lucky we are to have some of the businesses we do in Croton. Case in point: Danny Vlad of Croton Jewelers. We can’t tell you the number of Sundays we’ve arrived in the Upper Village to find Danny leaf-blowing the trash, debris, etc. in the Upper Village business district so that visitors and residents can walk on uncluttered, clean sidewalks. He just makes the place look better.

Danny is also a volunteer fireman, in addition to being the owner of Croton Jewelers (1A Old Post Rd. S., 827-3699), one of the best places around for Italian cameos, precious and semi-precious stones, vintage inspired marcasite pieces and more. (Click on the photo.) So the next time you see Danny, say thanks.

  2. I'm not surprised that Danny does it all like this. He would make an excellent trustee and I wish he'd run. He'd return some commonsense to a board that spends our money like water. We need more people in elected positions who run the village like a family on a budget or someone who has to run their own business.
