CROTON TRUSTEE RASKOB OFF THE HOME ALONE CASE

After arguing there was no conflict, Trustee Raskob is 'OFF THE HOME ALONE" CASE: CROTON-ON-HUDSON — A local woman who left her daughter home alone while traveling to Taiwan has dumped her lawyer, who's being criticized for representing her in the village where he's a trustee. Village code of ethics quoted in the article.  Link no longer available; however code triumphed. Raskob came off case.

  1. The article quotes the village code: "Representation before one's own agency of the village. He shall not receive or enter into any agreement, express or implied, for compensation for services to be rendered in relation to any matter before any agency of the village of which he is an officer or employee or of any agency over which he has jurisdiction or to which he has the power to appoint any officer or employee."
Weren't we saying that all along? Gotta watch these guys like a hawk.

  3. Attorneys are obligated to avoid all appearance of conflict. That and the village code makes it impossible for Rascob to appear before the court and be a trustee. Maybe he should have thought of that earlier.

  4. This would have NEVER happened when Deb McCarthey was a trustee and Waldman would have said something too.
