GAZETTE: RASKOB NAMED NEW CROTON PROSECUTOR, SLIPPEN INSTALLED AS TRUSTEE (in his place)
1) Village prosecutor job is 2 days a week and pays $24,555 year currently. Sitting trustees earn $3,000 a year.
2)The village prosecutor: "Mr. Rosen contacted earlier Monday, said he
was informed by Vil. Mgr. Zambrano just before Christmas that he would
not be reappointed to another one year term as prosecutor...He said he
understood that the mayor wanted to appoint someone else. Mr. Rosen said
he found out his successor would be Mr. Raskob from staff in the
village court's office."
3) Rosen said: I'm disappointed by not being reappointed as well as the
manner in which the information was conveyed, considering his almost 23
years of service....After speaking with Mr. Zambrano Mr Rosen said he
called the mayor, indicating he sought the mayor to reconsider but to no
avail. He was not told by Mr. Wiegman who his successor would be.
4) Mr. Raskob said earlier Monday that after hearing from Mayor Wiegman
that the mayor was planning to replace the village prosecutor, "I
suggested myself".
5) He also said: As prosecutor he said he plans to focus on "cleaning up zoning issues;"
specifically properties in violation of the property maintenance
regulations in the village code. (Editor's Note: We hope his first job will be to have the illegal structures on the Gouveia property removed at her own cost.)
