TRENDING ON SOCIAL MEDIA THIS FINE FRIDAY

Many of us are not on social media but we get to hear about it periodically and are sometimes sent screenshots...

WE WERE BUSY instead marking the 250th birthday of our nation last weekend---Croton's silent majority went to church, barbecued, pulled out the sparklers and rockets---avoiding the heat and rain when possible.  It's been difficult to keep the plant fungus at bay, and all the new street trees planted on Grand have some sort of fungal rust-------plus, for all our efforts, cedar apple rush has again attacked all the area crabapples. Part and parcel of summer life.

***Friends tell us--with a mix of relief and amusement--that a VILLAGE facebook page relentlessly plagued by TDS, Israel-hatred, trans-madness, and more---not to mention bots and anonymous posters as well---now has a new name--
Unnecessarily Unhinged......The admin of the page said he didn't think it reflected the community anymore, so he didn't want the name "Croton" associated with it.

***Chatter STILL continues about the latest school academic numbers---Science, ELA, Math, etc. and Croton's ranking---and much disappointment in it all continues with hopes that newly elected Day and Laird will have some influence---go to EverythingCroton: SCARSDALE AGAIN----SEE NY SCHOOL DISTRICTS RANKED 1 TO 599 BASED ON 2025 SCIENCE TEST RESULTS---AND CROTON IS...

***LOTS OF CHATTER ABOUT THE 100 UNITS OF "AFFORDABLE HOUSING" coming to Lot A, the housing possible at the Straddles site, and essentially the dividing of the village into "affordable" versus....NOT.....

***Still lots of chatter about the coming pot shop.......

***LOTS OF AMUSEMENT OVER THE CLEARWATER EXPULSION FROM SAIL4TH---70 to 100 ships and only one had banners....yada yada yada...discussion of village requirements for Summerfest vendors being a violation of first amendment rights but we'll let the lawyers tackle that one.
