SYRACUSE, N.Y (WSYR-TV) — A previously convicted sex offender from Syracuse faces new child pornography charges, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) said.
50-year-old Alden Fuller was in federal court on April 24 on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, according to a May 5 statement from the DOJ. He was ordered to be detained pending trial on April 27. A criminal complaint from April 23 accused Fuller of being in possession of a cell phone containing large amounts of child pornography. Fuller bought the pornography from another user via a social media messaging application, the DOJ said, adding that materials he purchased included videos of children as young as 6 years old being sexually abused.
Fuller was “so eager” to collect videos of child sexual abuse that he willingly paid for them, First Assistant United States Attorney John Sarcone III said in the statement. This is not only reprehensible, but it also helped fuel the online market for material depicting the sexual abuse of children,” he said.
