Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
FROM LESLIE POLLAK'S FB PAGE, ENDORSES LAIRD AND DAY
To my Croton Friends,
It is more important than ever to vote at the upcoming Board of Education election on May 19.I am asking all those who supported me and Allison to go to the polls! We can no longer sit by and watch the lack of responsiveness and accountability. All residents, even those who don’t presently have children in the school, must hold the Board accountable. Your real estate values and taxes are affected by these outcomes.I am proud to endorse Jake Day and Elizabeth (Betsy) Laird for the Croton-Harmon Board of Education. Both candidates bring a thoughtful, balanced, and forward-looking approach to our schools at a time when strong leadership truly matters.
Jake and Betsy are committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and maintaining the high academic standards our community values. Just as importantly, they understand the importance of supporting all students—academically, socially, and emotionally—while also respecting the voices of parents, teachers, and taxpayers. They also believe strongly in accountability and in not simply rubber-stamping budgets, but instead ensuring that every decision is carefully reviewed and truly serves the best interests of the community.
Their platforms reflect a clear dedication to strengthening our schools without losing sight of what makes Croton-Harmon special: a close-knit community that cares deeply about education. As someone who has been actively engaged in our school community, I especially value their willingness to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and approach decisions with independence and integrity.
I believe Jake Day and Elizabeth (Betsy) Laird will lead with purpose, engage openly with the community, and make decisions that benefit both current students and future generations.
I wholeheartedly endorse Jake Day and Elizabeth (Betsy) Laird and encourage others in our community to support them as well. (I may endorse a third candidate in the near future.) if anyone has any questions, always feel free to reach out.
Leslie
