Washington, D.C. – 4/30/26… Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) the House passed legislation to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through September. Lawler released the following statement after President Trump signed the measure into law, ending the 76-day funding lapse.
“The Department of Homeland Security should never have been allowed to sit in limbo. Our first responsibility is to the men and women who keep this country safe, and that includes our TSA officers, Coast Guard service members, FEMA teams, and Secret Service personnel.
