A Local Law to amend Chapter 204, Taxation, of the Village Code to add/update various real property tax exemptions.
Local Law Introductory No. 6 of 2026 has been drafted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson to amend Chapter 204, Taxation, of the Village Code to add/update various real property tax exemptions.
The Village Board will be considering additional property tax exemptions for surviving spouses of police officers killed in the line of duty, and active-duty military deployed in an active combat zone, which have been newly enacted by the New York State Legislature.
The Village Board will also be considering amending the existing property tax exemptions for surviving spouses of volunteer firefighters/ambulance workers killed in the line of duty, as well as low-income senior citizens.
A public hearing on Local Law Introductory No. 6 of 2026 has been scheduled for May 6, 2026.
