Another blast from the past---another little jewel of a putz house by artisan Howard Lamey of littleglitterhouses -- See it from start to finish here http://bit.ly/1lLKDKJ
It's followed by a simply amazing 1880 ad for McCobb's Chocolate---complete with owl drinking a piping hot cup! Oh those whimsical Victorians!
And after that, a 1950's Davy Crockett pencil case, courtesy of a previous auction at Croton's own SERIOUSTOYZ. Click on the photos.
Some thoughts on the "new" LED Christmas lights; ah--the electric bill--your editor, whose house is festooned with lights every year front and back--is now using about 70% LED--and that's as far as it's going to go. There IS a difference in the electric bill by at least 65% this year...still we simply can't give up those vintage Chrismas lights--or the old fashioned blow-molds...the shapes, the colors, yada-yada...and like so many of you, we continue the hunt all year round.
Speaking of vintage blow-molds, one of our favorite sites is still down--sigh--blowmoldsrus.webs.com/ And so...here's a blow-mold Flickr gallery from friends for your viewing pleasure--lots of vintage--and some newer pieces https://www.flickr.com/groups/970744@N24/
To the reader who is looking to reproduce a putz-like airport for her Christmas village, there are two toy examples at this link--just keep scrolling down the page once you get there http://bit.ly/2FhchNj

Have been collecting things that would have gone into a "Woolworth's" Christmas display--expanding upon my homage to the National Christmas Museum--found this source for vintage Eureka seals here
