AN IMPORTANT LETTER FROM BRIAN POWERS 7/10/14 ON THE GOUVEIA PROPERTY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

The 7/10 edition of THE GAZETTE is filled with a number of very important letters you should not miss on issues that have had--and will have--profound implications for the village and its taxpayers. With permission, click on the scans below to read a letter from Brian Powers in response to the mayor's recent 'confession'/Gazette letter about activities both he and Trustee Gallelli have engaged in regarding the Gouveia property and the SOMETHING GOOD IN THE WORLD EARTH SCHOOL. To those who have asked, I am still waiting on the receipt of documents in response to my 6/17 foil request on Gouveia; the documents are being "reviewed".

Related to this issue, please read JOEL GINGOLD'S letter as well at the CROTON UNITED FB page here: https://www.facebook.com/notes/croton-united/croton-united-member-joel-gingolds-letter-to-the-editor/323113674512337

  1. The board meeting on Monday should be very interesting. I wonder who will be there or better yet, who won't be there. Think missing full time mayor when the budget and benefits were passed.

  2. from july 11 2013 gazette art. on gouvea

Opponents attended meeting. They appeared none too satisfied when Deputy Mayor Ann Gallelli, chairing the meeting in the absence of Mayor Leo Wiegman, said that on advice of counsel board members would not respond to any audience questions. That is because counsel for Mrs. Gouveia, 71, and the village are "in discussions" regarding the matter, according to Mayor Gallelli.

YES MR. POWERS THE BAR HAS BEEN LOWERED A LONG TIME. Thank you for your letter, Linda

  3. Maybe all this should be sent to Mr. DiNapoli.

  4. If there is Village-owned property to be rented out, is there no process for an RFP to ID a tenant, to set a proper market-rate rent, negotiate terms re: capital or net lease, etc.??? This is more and more amateur hour, and as said, if it walks like a duck, it's a school.
