MORE BULKHEAD PROBLEMS AT THE CROTON YACHT CLUB 3/2/13

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

In our walk on the riverfront today, we were startled to see that the bulkhead walkway has now been completely cordoned off, but more than this, that sections of the walkway immediately adjacent to the Croton Yacht Club building itself are suddenly upended/or sunken for lack of another way to put it. Best to let the photos below do the talking. One assumes the village is aware of the situation but these photos will be sent anyway.

  1. This takes priority over a bike lane any day of the week. I can only dream.

  3. WONDER IF THEY'LL ACTUALLY SHIFT THEIR PRIORITIES FROM PSUEDO PROBLEMS ON CROTON POINT AVENUE TO FULFILLING THEIR OBLIGATIONS TO THEIR TENANT.

  4. nah, they'll hire another consultant who'll tell us what we already know for another $18 grand or worse, then shore it up temporarilly. Bicycle lanes are more important. Energy loans are more important. Rezoning Harmon is more important.

  5. If this falls into the sea and the club is damaged, or any of the boats, I assume that the village as landlord, is responsible?

  6. Not every landlord pays attention to tenants. What is worse is to merely give lip service.

The bulkhead wall is more important than a bike path. Village of Croton - maintain your property!

  7. The Village should be AT LEAST try to fix these sinkholes on a best-effort temporary basis. How irresponsible to let these pictures and the story go on for so many months.

What a shame to let petty politics get in the way of basic land lord responsibility,
