MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

We just love the ad to the right--a page from the 1958 Sears Christmas Wishbook catalog. It just screams 1950's! Dad with his new shotgun, Mom with her new luggage, Junior with his new bike and of course “Susie” with her doll and carriage! Click on the photo.

And...

It is with great pleasure that we announce the arrival of writer and fellow collector Antoinette Stockenberg’s 2011 Vintage Christmas Mantle, wonderful and quite early—made in Japan putz houses complete with vintage zinnfiguren a.k.a. tin/lead flats! Click on the link, read the lovely story, then keep scrolling down the page: http://www.antoinettestockenberg.com/Putz2011.htm

  3. Having these "vintage" articles has made me appreciate the stuff that's forgotten in the attic and the garage. We pulled out the aluminum Christmas tree this year. It had been in the box since 1962, we used it maybe twice, so it is mint. Took me a while to find the color wheel but it's up, along with a real tree. Best fun my wife and I have had in a long time.
