AND NOW SOME OLD REQUESTS AT THE BLOG...FROM THE MAILBOX

Lots of items we are finally get around to:

--------A reader fondly remembers an event she attended on the Croton Riverfront "honoring/celebrating?" law enforcement with her late brother last year but can't remember the details. Help!

REPONSE: You MAY mean the National Night Out---see the photos and more at EverythingCroton: JUST A FEW PHOTOS FROM CROTON-ON-HUDSON'S NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 8/5/2025

--------A reader writes "I bought my daughter's communion dress--second hand--at a wonderful slightly upscale thrift shop in Harmon many years ago.  On a recent visit to family still in the village, I noted that it's gone. They don't remember the place. Name please. OPEN SOMEWHERE ELSE??? Details please.

RESPONSE: You must mean Elena's Boutique; it closed about ten years ago. A post is planned. Stay tuned.

--------A reader writes: "saw the great coverage of hero Daniel Penny on your blog at THE NY TIMES---THEY'RE AT IT AGAIN---AND THE PRIZE FOR THE WORST DANIEL PENNY COVERAGE GOES TO.... We need more men like this in the world. I was wondering what he is doing these days?"

RESPONSE: VIA GOOGLE A.I.: Happy to report that DANIEL PENNY is doing well; he has transitioned into a professional career in the private sector following his legal exoneration. In February 2025, Penny was hired as a "deal partner" by the prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). He works within their American Dynamism division; Penny’s hiring at a16z was reportedly supported by firm leadership, who cited his "courage in a tough situation" and expressed a commitment to evaluating people beyond their most difficult moments.

The father of Jordan Neely is suing civilly but this is expected to take years to resolve.
