A dangerous MS-13 local ringleader believed to be linked to nearly a dozen murders in the US was arrested on Long Island Tuesday night after four years on the run.Joel Vargas-Escobar, who also went by “Momia,” was nabbed by FBI agents in Westbury, Nassau County, for his alleged role in 11 murders across Nevada and California, the US Attorney’s Office, District of Nevada announced Wednesday evening. The El Salvadoran national, who was in the country illegally, was the alleged leader of the Parkview clique, an MS-13 subset in Las Vegas, where he ordered the slaughter of at least two of the 11 victims in 2017, officials alleged. His arrest comes amid the Trump administration’s ongoing crackdown on migrants who are in the country illegally — especially those linked to gangs, drug cartels and crime. First up, a great ad for Garbo in the 1934 production of Queen Christina--a pre-code film that was a critical success for Garbo and John Gilbert, their fourth and final film together.   Read more about it here.

On 29 March 2025, American actor Richard Chamberlain (1934) passed away. The impeccably handsome Chamberlain was TV's leading heartthrob because of his title role in Dr. Kildare (1961-1966). He turned his back on Hollywood, devoting himself to the stage and a new European film career. Later he became the 'King of the Miniseries'. He was 90.

YESTERDAY----AWESOME ASTRONAUT INTERVIEW ON FOX....we had 11 people at our informal breakfast watch party here in Croton. Special kudos to Bagels-on-Hudson--they make a mean everything bagel--and their scallion cream cheese is excellent.

Many thanks to Fox for covering such an amazing and insightful event. And while the "free streaming pass" included a lot of ads, it did not matter; it was worth it to us all....should this interview be repeated again, bookmark this post for the link---the interview was divided into two parts with Part Two including commentary on Elon Musk and President Trump....let it suffice to say that both astronauts were grateful and appreciated the latter's commitment to continued space exploration. The astronauts' concise and genuine thoughts on faith, family, and what they had to do to survive, were nothing short of inspirational.
