Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
You are encouraged to watch last night's 3/1 "orchestrated" board meeting (STILL being held via Zoom) regarding the significant changes to the affordable/low income housing project (two buildings) being proposed for the Katz property.
The three bedroom changes will assist the developer, there will be an impact on the school district, and the PILOT is being changed to reflect the increased school burden (by how much is unknown), it is essentially claimed this is all in your best interests, etc. etc. etc. It's quite an eye opener between the housing and "police reform". But see and judge for yourself: https://www.facebook.com/CrotonGov/videos/179783263678653
UPDATE--FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO KNOW THE COST PER STUDENT--MORE RECENT DATA IN THE BUTTONS ON THE LFT HAND SIDE TOP OF THAT SCREEN---but site is very slow https://data.nysed.gov/fiscal.php?year=2017&instid=800000035699
It's about $29K annually to educate a student here right? Do you know where that's written down?
ReplyDeleteI believe your number is correct but DO NOT have any documentation to that effect. Anyone out there?
Deletethe number comes from NYSED. CHUFSD Assistant Supt for Business will be able to give you the exact number.
ReplyDeleteThere's this number from 2016-2017 and I guess it has gone up since. https://data.nysed.gov/fiscal.php?year=2017&instid=800000035699 If you look around the site, I'm sure you will find something more recent. Are kids back in C-H schools or is it still that hybrid situation? Our daughter has been at St. Augustine and they have been in-person so that is where our focus is. Good luck.
