Excerpted....CNN breaking-news reporter Devan Cole claimed yesterday that there’s no way to determine a child’s “gender identity” at birth.   “It’s not possible to know a person’s gender identity at birth, and there is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth,” Cole asserted, in a statement better fit for an unhinged opinion article than a news article by a breaking-news reporter.  MORE HERE.

First up, a  curious pre-World War 1 New Year's Eve postcard, courtesy of collector SQ...

There's mushrooms, snow, a good luck horse shoe, four leaf clovers and a lady bug; charming and strange in every way!

That's followed by one of our favorite finds many years ago from Asbury Methodist's annual spring tale sale--this wonderful old cabinet card/postcard--discovered in the lining of an old sewing basket!   Probably early 1900's and possibly French.  Love the bonnet.  It seems very "French Revolution" in styling to most of us....

She's followed  by one of our favorite putz houses from Howard Lamey--the little red schoolhouse--and a great shot, 1941, of Vivien Leigh from Screenland magazine--

I like putting together toy soldier set-ups but every now-&-then they become quite a handful. This was one of them. The space used for this was the same space I used for last year's Christmas layout, battery operated Korean train, the Gettysburg set-up, and more. It measures 44" deep x ca76" wide and is in no way sufficient enough to properly depict the real Alamo compound, which was actually quite large. Of course, the original Marx playsets featured a very small compound because they were meant as a child's playset. But using components from...READ AND SEE MUCH MORE FROM TOYS & STUFF HERE.
