THE VENUS FLY TRAP, (ALMOST) GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Everything Croton continues its very popular series GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN....and so without further ah-doo...

(ALMOST) GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: THE VENUS FLY TRAP - Click on the 1967 ad for all the details.

Alright you can still find these plants but back in 60's, it was quite the novelty--and almost every comic featured the opportunity to buy one. Some ads even made the plant look much larger than it actually was--and a friend recently confessed how disappointed he was that it never grew taller.  Your editor liked this ad in particular because it also features a quasi-endorsement from Charles Darwin!

  1. True. I thought it was going to be at least a foot tall back then. Imagine the disappointment.
