LAST WEEK'S ACCIDENT AND OTHER AGENDAS

It's always troubling when an unfortunate accident is used to further other agendas. In a letter to this week's Gazette, it's been represented that the Croton Point Avenue "Improvement" Project could have prevented last week's accident in which a woman's foot was run over by a tractor trailer. According to News 12, the injured woman stepped off the curb while the truck was turning onto the highway.

There's nothing in the proposed project that would have prevented such an accident, and there is no guarantee that the "improvements" that are proposed will stop such accidents from occurring in the future. The matter remains under investigation.
