Rapture, we've always wanted one of these--a Flexible Flyer sled from the late 40's early 50's, found at a tag sale today for three dollars. Yes, three dollars. We've visions of restoring it within reason--not for sledding--more for effect--as part of a vintage Christmas vignette this year. First however, what remains of the decals must be stabilized and some of the rust cleaned up--stay tuned. Click on the photo. For our purposes, it will be a beaut.
P.S. And at the same tag sale we found a batch of 1960's Life and Look magazines for a quarter a piece--and rapture again--no mold, no waterlogged pages--almost as good as the day they were printed. Stay tuned.
Speaking of restorations, click on the link and keep scrolling down the page to see the progress of Howard's restoration on a very early made in Japan cardboard castle putz; you can also see a repro of an early castle by Karl Fey http://www.cardboardchristmas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=399
