PHOTOS: OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CELEBRATION 2011

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

On October 9th, the Spanish Ministry of Holy Name of Mary Church celebrated the One Year anniversary of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Grotto. If you didn't have the opportunity to witness this event, you missed out on a truly memorable occasion.

The statue was carried from the grotto in Vassalo Park to the Church for a bi-lingual mass, then carried to the gym for the festivities, and finally re-installed at the grotto at 7 pm. In between there was dancing and music provided by two local troupes: Nueva Generacion (New Generation), specializing in Ecuadorian dance and the Mexican Folklore Ballet Yavidaxiu. Of course there was also great food lovingly cooked and served by the volunteers.

It is always a pleasure to be asked to photograph these events. Click on the link to see some photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157627858293894/

See you all again next year!
