WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS, MORE ON TODAY'S GRAND STREET FIRE

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

A kitchen fire broke out at the Van Wyck Apartments on Grand Street today. Thankfully, the fire was contained to the one apartment and no one was hurt.

What impressed us most, however, was how quickly the Croton volunteer fire department responded, as well as other nearby fire fighters from Ossining, etc.
So hats off to you guys for another job well done!

  3. I heard it was electrical and am very grateful the damage was not more extensive and that no one was hurt. Gotta love our volunteers and give them the lion's share of credit for that.

  6. Glad too no one was hurt. It could have been a lot worse in an apartment situation like that.
