Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things
Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in
short, EverythingCroton.
It was a packed house at the swearing in of Mayor Schmidt
and Trustees Walsh and Anderson at last night's organizational meeting. Click

The mayor was all class last night when he acknowledged the hard work of former Mayor Weigman and trustees, and pointed out that they may have different opinions, but that their devotion of time and committment to the village is to be recognized. It was a great way to auger in his mayoralty. I only wish that Ann Gallelli and Brian Pugh had exhibited the same gracious behavior by applauding his swearing in...but alas, I guess I hope for too much. Let's see if they can get along for the sake of the village.
ReplyDeleteSince it's the contractual obligations entered into by the previous board and we will probably have to bust the tax cap as a result, maybe this new board needs to look at our biggest expenditure as a village: the police department.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many people there last night that the back room doors had to be opened for more seating, a very visible demonstration of how desperately change and back to basics is needed in this village. I only hope that some of the damage can be undone.
Please let this be the end of ToughMan. I'm tired of being pushed around by people outside of our area with no benefit to Croton.
