Leonid meteors in 2024: All you need to know FROM EARTH SKY NEWS

Earth is now plowing through a stream of debris in space, left by Comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle. It's creating the famous Leonid shower, known for producing some of the greatest meteor displays in living history. The best time to watch in 2024 is midnight through dawn tomorrow and Sunday morning. Now the bad news. In 2024, a bright waning gibbous moon will blot most of the meteors from view. If you want to observe the shower anyway, try sitting in a moon shadow – like the shadow of a tree, barn or mountain – where you can be out of direct moonlight, but still have a wide view of the sky.
