IN MEMORY OF MARGARET OPIE

EVERYTHING CROTON has been asked to post the following from a member of Asbury: Word was received yesterday that long time Croton resident Margaret Opie passed away yesterday at her son Marshall's home outside of Washington, DC. Her son Fred called to give former neighbors on Batten Road the information. A long time member and former choir director at Asbury United Methodist church, she was very active in the community here until the death of her husband Fred at which time she moved to her son's residence. Her funeral will be on Monday in Maryland, and she will be interred the following Monday, 7/7, in Valhalla Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Additional details forthcoming.

UPDATED: 7/7 INTERMENT:
To Friends, Family, and Extended Family, Croton Folk--The interment for Margaret Opie will be held at Monday July 7th at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY at 11:00 am starting with procession from Lee's Funeral Home, 160 Fisher Lane, White Plains, NY. at 10:30 am. From there we will go to Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, NY for a brief graveside service and internment at 11am. Immediately following, we will have lunch at the Cabin Restaurant, 1172 Knollwood Road, White Plains, NY.
